Surespan designed and manufactured several roof access hatches with retractable laddersfor the California State University in Northride, California.
The project
California State University approached Sure span to assist with a new means of roof access to a custom size. The requirements set out involved a complete access package to provide roof access to maintain and service the roof equipment.

Surespan designed and manufactured 52-inch x 52 inch Custom Roof Doors with an retractable ladder and ceiling access door. These hatches are thermally broken and insulated with 2″ Insulation.

Surespan supplied a custom 52 inch square thermally broken roof hatch, complete with a retractable ladder to suit a floor to ceiling height up to 11 feet. The access package was complete with a ceiling access panel in the main corridoor below to conceal away the access route.
All hatches manufactured by Surespan are insulated and thermally broken. The units are tested to IP66, resistance to wind loads, air permeability and weathertightness for a high quality finished product.
